LM Brimmer
LM Brimmer is a Black queer midwestern artist. Their poems haven been published poems in many literary journals including: Concision Poetry Journal, Voicemail Poems, Quarterly West, the Pleiades: Literature in Context, Quarter Notes, Heavy Feather Review, Tiny Spoon, the Colorado Review, Sonora Review and more. In 2024 they received an Minnesota State Arts Board Grant for a year long Belonging project across greater MN.
In 2023 they completed their MFA in Poetry at Randolph College and in 2018 received a MA in English Literature from the University of St. Thomas (their BA Sociology Alma Mater). After years of arts based progam management,
LM started working in Literary Arts with the Verve and Beyond the Pure fellowships alongside Queer Voices Reading Series. QV has been alive since 1993 and is now co-curated alongside Sherrie Fernandez-Williams, Myrtle Lemon Todd, Folasade Adesanya and Johanna Keller-Flores. and LM is Artistic Director of Queer Voices of Minnesota. In 2019 they co-edited Queer Voices: Poetry, Prose and Pride (Minnesota Historical Society Press).
