Twins Pride night
On June 12, at Twins Pride night, Queer Voices was honored on the field for our 32-year history of celebrating, promoting, presenting, and developing queer creatives, while bolstering community connections among writers, visual artists, and performers.
Queer Voices’ mission is to provide accessible, varied programming as a shared resource for 2SLGBTQIA+ lives and the artists & audiences living them.
Our crew at the ball game was Halee Kirkwood (mentor and reader), Tommy, Sherrie Fernandez-Williams, and katie robinson (anthology and reader) and it felt like a small celebration of community outside of literary space. We might have made it literary, Sherrie brought her book.
We were especially glad to honor Roxx Anderson, whose presence and work mean so much to us. The Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus added some joy with their Anthem. It was a great way to kick off PRIDE with something that still feels too radical… our mere (but fabulous) presence.
Exciting situation with our PRIDE show on the horizon - Queer Voices Out Loud Out Here at Red Eye Theatre next week. Jun 26 & 27, 7pm.
